Did you get epididymitis again, and is it chronic?

Patient's question:

10 years ago, I first got orchitis and took some medication. It didn't take more than 1-2 days for the symptoms to subside. Then in August of this year, I got orchitis again, but it wasn't severe. It didn't hurt much, just a little discomfort. I didn't take any medication, and it lasted for about 2-3 days before it went away. Then, in early November, I got orchitis again. This time, it took 6 days of intravenous drip treatment to recover. Now, this year, I've had orchitis again, but it's not severe, just a little discomfort. I want to ask the doctor why I've had orchitis so frequently this year. If it's caused by bacteria or a virus, should I replace all my underwear, bed sheets, and things like that? Besides me, could this be chronic?

Doctor's answer:

Orchitis is a common urological disease, usually caused by bacteria and viruses. There are several causes of orchitis, such as infections, trauma, and tumors. The clinical manifestations of orchitis include high fever, chills, testicular pain and swelling, referred pain, and tenderness. What is the reason for your repeated recurrence? Different treatment plans should be formulated based on different causes. It is important to have a systematic treatment and not to think the disease is cured just because the symptoms are completely gone. The treatment needs to be stable. Orchitis can be stabilized, but the treatment cycle is usually long, and the disease is prone to recur after treatment.
