Features: On December 10, 2001, China joined the World Trade Organization (WTO). From then on, China will further enhance political, economic, and cultural exchanges and cooperation with countries around the world. All of this is destined to make China write an important chapter in the future development of the world economy. However, China's economic development is facing unprecedented challenges in talent, with a shortage of skilled professionals in many fields. Especially in the field of international trade, international management talent capable of adapting to global competition is essential for China's future international competitiveness. Therefore, formulating and implementing a talent strategy, cultivating and nurturing a large number of outstanding talents, is the key to gaining the initiative in the new round of international competition. The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program was first introduced in 1910 by Harvard University in the United States. Over the past century, the MBA program has been continuously refined and has achieved remarkable results. Today, MBA education in the U.S. is well-known in the global business community and is highly recognized and valued by society. Although China's MBA education started relatively late, it has developed rapidly and achieved significant results over the past decade. Currently, there are over 50 higher education institutions in China that can award MBA degrees, having cultivated more than 3,000 MBA graduates and enrolling over 20,000 students. At present, the domestic MBA education market is thriving, but behind this prosperity lie various urgent issues. A significant portion of these problems stems from the outdated content of textbooks used by Chinese universities, which lag far behind the renowned textbooks of top international institutions in terms of both content and teaching systems. To adapt to economic globalization, national education authorities have mandated that universities extensively promote the use of foreign languages in teaching public and professional courses. Especially after China's entry into the WTO, the demand for MBA professionals accounts for one-third of the millions of talent urgently needed. Therefore, vigorously developing bilingual teaching and appropriately introducing and referencing original textbooks from prestigious foreign universities is a shortcut to accelerating the pace of China's MBA education and making it more international. Currently, the market for imported foreign textbooks in China is a mix of new and old, good and bad, requiring readers to carefully discern. Regarding the use of original foreign textbooks, we would like to offer the following insights. Foreign publishers release tens of thousands of textbooks each year. Without understanding the foreign textbook market or the quality of original foreign textbooks, it may be difficult to find truly suitable materials for teaching and learning. For domestic readers who are less familiar with foreign textbooks, the following principles should be followed when selecting textbooks: choosing the latest published books from renowned universities and authors; choosing books that have been revised multiple times and are very popular. Based on the above considerations, Peking University Press has launched the "Contemporary American MBA Classic Textbook Series (English Photocopy Edition)." The selection of this series follows the principles mentioned above: being new, excellent, and refined. Carefully curated by renowned scholars from Peking University and other prestigious domestic universities, this series compiles authoritative works from experts in various fields of American management studies, making it a truly top-tier collection. The series currently includes three series: MBA Core Courses, Accounting, and Finance, comprising a total of 45 titles. In the future, we will continue to release more professional English photocopy edition books.
