Features: I began to study the history of wars, research historical materials, and interview several veteran Red Army comrades. In 1996, I wrote the ten-episode script for the TV series "The Pillar of the South Sky," but due to various reasons, it was never put into production. Therefore, I finally made up my mind to write a full-length novel. This creative process spanned twenty years, and I will briefly summarize it here, which can also be considered a record and an expression of my feelings! This full-length novel is a documentary-style literary work that describes the creation of the Hunan-Hubei-Sichuan-Guizhou Revolutionary Base Area and the arduous and relentless battles against the enemy after the Second and Sixth Corps of the Red Army joined forces at the border of Sichuan and Guizhou provinces in October 1934 under the leadership of He Long, Ren Bisheng, Guan Xiangying, Xiao Ke, and Wang Zhen.
