Features: Customs is one of the administrative agencies for foreign economic and trade, playing a significant role and position in the development of a country's foreign economic and trade. The Customs Law is a system of rules governing the management of customs over entry and exit activities and the behavior of personnel participating in entry and exit economic activities, serving as an important component of China's foreign-related economic law. Since the promulgation of the Ministry of the "Customs Law of the People's Republic of China" in 1987, legislation at all levels and aspects concerning the customs legal system has continuously expanded and improved. Based on the 1987 "Customs Law of the People's Republic of China," and in accordance with the rules and agreements of the World Trade Organization as well as the achievements of customs management system reforms, a new revised "Customs Law of the People's Republic of China" was passed in 2000. The new "Customs Law" not only further legalizes and institutionalizes the systems established since the reform and opening-up but also introduces new systems, providing more research fields and space for the teaching and study of customs law while also enhancing its theoretical and practical significance. Like other foreign-related economic laws, customs law emphasizes both professionalism and legal aspects. This book largely follows the legislative system of customs law, outlining the basic theories of customs law, its position in the foreign trade management system, various operational systems of customs law, and related cases from a legal perspective. It aims to meet the needs of law students to understand customs management systems and for customs management students to recognize the operational systems of customs law from a legal standpoint, laying a necessary knowledge foundation for future careers in foreign trade, economy, and law.
