Features: The "English" series textbooks for higher vocational and technical colleges are part of the "Ministry of Education's Higher Vocational and Technical College Planning Textbooks" and are designed for low-level non-English major students in higher vocational and technical colleges. This series of textbooks is based on the "Basic Requirements for English Teaching in Higher Vocational and Technical Colleges" issued by the Ministry of Education in 2000, aiming to combine language skills training with practical foreign-related activities. This allows students to learn and apply what they learn from the beginning, gradually building their skills. The series consists of the main textbook "English" (Volumes 1-4), "English Comprehensive Exercises" (Volumes 1-4), and "English Teacher's Reference Book" (Volumes 1-4). Each student textbook is accompanied by an audio cassette. "English 1" includes 20 units with a vocabulary starting point of 800 words. The main purpose of this book is to help students with an entry level below the "Basic Requirements" to review and consolidate the pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary they have learned in middle school through practical conversations and reading materials, laying a foundation for further learning. To make the book easier for beginners to use, basic pronunciation knowledge, basic grammar knowledge, and basic vocabulary are provided at the back of the book. The back of the book is also accompanied by the "English Multimedia Learning Course 1" CD-ROM. The CD-ROM includes six modules: Text Learning, Language Skills, Grammar Learning, Vocabulary Learning, Test Yourself, and Fun Time.
