Features: "English Listening Course" is a guided, progressive listening textbook. The book is divided into three volumes, designed for first and second-year students of English majors at higher education institutions, as well as for students from other disciplines, teacher education colleges, television universities, and self-learners. It has been designated as the listening course material for the satellite television English program. Super-Intermediate is the third volume, with the main objective of helping students review and consolidate the basic listening skills learned in the first and second volumes, improving their ability to comprehensively apply these skills, and further enhancing their listening comprehension and oral expression. The book consists of 24 units. The exercises in the entire book are divided into five categories:
Category 1: Single-exercise practice. Through various clearly defined single-exercise activities, students can review and reinforce the basic listening skills learned in the first two volumes.
Category 2: Comprehensive practice. Using exercises in multiple formats with varying difficulty levels, this category aims to improve students' ability to comprehensively apply a range of basic listening skills.
Category 3: Dictation practice. Through exercises such as fill-in-the-blanks, sentence dictation, and paragraph dictation, students can enhance their dictation skills and accuracy.
Category 4: Listening and speaking practice. This category focuses on cultivating students' ability to express their thoughts, feelings, and opinions freely on specific topics, as well as their ability to respond appropriately in given situations.
Category 5: Listening appreciation. Using formats such as slides and lectures, this category provides listening materials while introducing the cultural background, customs, traditions, and general knowledge of science, arts, and culture in English-speaking countries.
The book is accompanied by a teacher's manual and audio cassettes. The teacher's manual includes teaching tips and exercise answers.
