Patient's question:
My baby was diagnosed with a hemangioma right after birth, and our whole family was very sad. How are infant hemangiomas formed?Doctor's answer:
Many parents are very concerned about this issue, as many infants are born with this disease. This is because during human embryonic development, especially in the early stages of vascular tissue differentiation, small-scale displacement of gene fragments that control these tissues leads to abnormal tissue differentiation in specific areas, which then develops into angiomas. In early embryonic stages (8 to 12 months), mechanical damage to embryonic tissues causes local tissue bleeding, leading some hematopoietic stem cells to distribute to other embryonic characteristic cells. Some of these cells differentiate into vascular tissues, ultimately forming angiomas.
