Fundamentals of Mechanical Design (Third Edition)

Author: Wang Xinyuan, Editor-in-Chief
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2002-07-06
Features: This book is revised based on the second edition (1985) edited by Yu Huazheng, in accordance with the spirit of the "Basic Requirements for Teaching of Mechanical Design Fundamentals for Undergraduate Engineering Programs (Less Hours)" reviewed in 1995, and combined with practical applications. The system and chapter order of this book are basically the same as the second edition; updates include V-belt drives, chain drives, load capacity calculations for involute cylindrical gears, worm drives, rolling bearings, threaded joints, concepts of machines and mechanisms, and commonly used materials in mechanical manufacturing. Some content, such as lifting machinery parts, has been removed, and other content has been appropriately reduced and supplemented. This book is primarily used as a textbook for non-mechanical majors in higher industrial schools and can also be referenced by relevant engineering technicians.
