Features: With the advancement of China's socialist modernization, cultivating millions of specialized talents through high-quality higher education to meet the challenges of the new century is the foundation of the "Science and Education Revitalize China" strategy and a crucial guarantee for achieving the goals of the 10th Five-Year Plan. To effectively strengthen undergraduate teaching in universities and improve teaching quality, the Ministry of Education issued a document in 2001 outlining 12 suggestions to guide university teaching in areas such as awareness, management, faculty development, teaching methods, and teaching tools. The document emphasizes that, in line with the requirement of "Education must face modernization, the world, and the future," undergraduate education should create conditions to use foreign languages like English for public and specialized courses to adapt to the challenges of economic globalization and internationalization of science and technology. Guided by the spirit of the document, a trend of using foreign textbooks for teaching activities has emerged across ordinary universities, especially key institutions. Fields such as biotechnology and engineering, environmental science and engineering, materials science and engineering, and chemical technology and chemical engineering—key components of the foundational theories of these disciplines—have been among the most active areas in this trend. Under the guidance and support of the Ministry of Education's "Research and Practice on Reform of Talent Cultivation Plans and Teaching Content Systems for Chemical Engineering Majors" project team, the "Research and Practice on Reform of Innovative Talent Cultivation Models, Teaching Content, Teaching Methods, and Teaching Technologies for Chemical Engineering Majors" project team, and the "National Undergraduate Chemical Engineering and Technology Teaching Guidance Committee," Chemical Industry Press promptly launched the initiative to introduce renowned textbooks from top universities abroad.
