Features: This book is a part of the "Informationization Series in Chemical Industry." It aims to provide an in-depth yet accessible introduction to the simulation and optimization of chemical processes. The book is divided into five chapters and an appendix. Chapter 1 primarily introduces basic concepts and research scope; Chapter 2 presents commonly used unit process mathematical models from three aspects; Chapter 3 covers the fundamental theories of process simulation calculations and the main algorithms (sequential modular method and simultaneous equation method) used in process simulation, while also introducing the basic content and application methods of process simulation software systems. Chapter 4 first explains the differences between dynamic simulation and steady-state simulation, then discusses the numerical solution methods for dynamic process mathematical models. Building on this, it explores the dynamic simulation of typical unit processes and complex plant processes using dynamic simulation software HYSYS, with the final section focusing on dynamic simulation training systems. Chapter 5 introduces the basic concepts of optimization algorithms, deterministic and stochastic methods for process optimization, and multi-objective optimization algorithms, applying these to chemical process optimization methods. The final section covers online real-time optimization of chemical processes. This book is suitable for informationization workers, managers, and corporate leaders in petrochemical enterprises, as well as serving as a reference for postgraduate and undergraduate students in management and computer science related to informationization, and for candidates preparing for various chemical informationization certification exams.
