Features: The research on the education standards and training programs for the Building Electrical Engineering Technology major in higher vocational education includes four components. The first part is the background analysis of the Building Electrical Engineering Technology major in the development of higher vocational education. Its main content consists of three aspects: First, the impact of the structural changes of industries driven by high technology on the Building Electrical Engineering Technology major; second, the new space brought by the market economy for the development of the Building Electrical Engineering Technology major; third, the opportunities and challenges presented by joining the WTO. The second part is the main content of the research on education standards and training programs. It includes three aspects: First, the education standards of the Building Electrical Engineering Technology major, which mainly studies the professional training objectives, talent cultivation specifications, and professional setup. Second, the overall framework of teaching reform for the Building Electrical Engineering Technology major, which is divided into: professional construction, mainly including the construction of a new curriculum system and the construction of a new practical training system; curriculum construction, mainly including the development of new courses, the integration of courses, and the updating of curriculum content; and the construction of teaching foundation work. Third, the research on the training program of the Building Electrical Engineering Technology major. When formulating the training program, the following principles are followed: Reflecting the training objectives in the education standards, improving the curriculum system, ensuring that the scientific curriculum system meets the requirements of talent cultivation specifications, focusing on the operability of the training program, and meeting the basic requirements of higher vocational education for school running. The third part is the research methods, which include two aspects: First, investigation and research. Through investigation and research, the basic conditions of building electrical engineering technicians were understood, including job division, educational levels of personnel, job content, theoretical knowledge and basic skills that building electrical engineering technicians should possess, and the determination of the level of professional training objectives. Through investigation and research, the scope of practice, job requirements, and other aspects of the Building Electrical Engineering Technology major were clarified, and the requirements of the talent market for graduate specifications were grasped, providing basic materials for formulating the training program. Second, analysis and demonstration. Based on the investigation and research, relevant experts were organized to conduct an in-depth analysis of the current problems in higher vocational teaching, put forward ideas and suggestions for reform, determined the overall framework of reform, formulated education standards and training programs, and after repeated deliberation and demonstration, formed the research results. The fourth part is the summary of research results, which includes four aspects: First, the development of new courses, mainly including the development of three courses: Comprehensive Cabling and Network Engineering, Fire Technology, and Engineering Negotiation Skills. Second, the integration of courses, mainly including the integration of four courses: Building Power Supply and Lighting, Electronic Technology, Motor and Drive Basics, and Programmable Controller and Applications. Third, new content was added to some courses, mainly including two courses: Building Electrical Construction Technology and Building Electrical Control Technology. Fourth, the construction of a new curriculum system.
