What is the cause of left testicular ptosis?

Patient's question:

My left testicle is hanging down, and both testicles are somewhat painful, with the left one being much more painful. Except that during running or intense activities like sex, both sides are extremely painful. What is the reason for the left testicle hanging down?

Doctor's answer:

When a man suffers from orchitis, it can cause abnormal testicular drooping. If a careful examination of the affected testicle is performed, redness, swelling, and enlargement of the testicle can be observed, along with a sensation of heaviness and significant tenderness.
Men who suffer from varicocele may also experience abnormal testicular drooping. Other symptoms include swelling of the affected scrotum, localized heaviness, and pain. Symptoms may alleviate after prolonged standing and are reduced or disappear after lying down and resting.
Additionally, many perinatal and urological conditions may also lead to abnormal testicular drooping. Patients should maintain a light diet, avoid foods, and refrain from smoking and drinking beer.
