Features: Pharmaceutical Engineering English is written in accordance with the requirements of the Professional Reading Section of the Outline for College English Teaching (Revised Edition) for undergraduate students in science and engineering programs, specifically pharmaceutical engineering (including chemical pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical preparations) or related fields. The book consists of 25 units (50 texts) of lessons and reading materials, all selected from original English textbooks, monographs, major reference books, and professional journals (most of which are publications from the late 1980s and 1990s onwards).
Unit 1–5 of Part 1 introduce medicinal chemistry; Unit 6–10 of Part 2 cover biopharmaceuticals; Unit 11–15 of Part 3 discuss industrial pharmacy; Unit 16–20 of Part 4 focus on pharmaceutical engineering; and Unit 21–25 of Part 5 explore cutting-edge research areas in pharmaceutical engineering. Each unit includes one lesson and one reading material. The appendices include: General Principles for Nomenclature of Chinese Approved Drug Names, stem words adopted by INN and their Chinese translations, an English-Chinese selected list of new drug names, and a master vocabulary list. Each lesson is accompanied by reading comprehension exercises and vocabulary exercises. To facilitate self-study, each unit in the book provides a word and phrase list with necessary annotations.
