Features: The era of the knowledge economy is approaching us. Whether at the macro level of the nation or the micro level of enterprises, the development and management of human resources have never been as important and prominent as they are now. The development and management of human resources is an extremely complex systematic project. It involves macro-level aspects, including economic and social system reforms, social and cultural construction, education, eugenics, health care, as well as a series of related policies and development strategies of the government. At the same time, since most individuals live and work within certain organizations, the development of human resource potential, the mobilization of enthusiasm, and the rational allocation of personnel can ultimately only be achieved within these organizations. Therefore, human resource management within organizations is the micro foundation of the entire nation's human resource development and management. The goal of this book is to focus on human resource management within organizations, particularly in enterprises. The book is divided into four parts and thirteen chapters, with the main content of each part as follows:
Part One introduces the development history, evolution trends, and challenges of human resource management, presents the basic framework and fundamental theories of human resource management, and provides a summary of the main characteristics of human resource management practices in some developed countries and in China before and after the reform and opening-up.
Part Two focuses on the principles, procedures, and methods of enterprise human resource formation, including job analysis and job design, human resource planning, and employee recruitment.
Part Three discusses human resource development, primarily from the aspects of motivation and training. It introduces several major motivation theories and practical motivation methods applied in enterprises. In the training and education chapter, it mainly covers the types, methods, procedures, and evaluation of training performance.
Part Four covers the operation and management of human resources, including mainly salary and reward management, job performance evaluation, and human resource management and team building. We have separately listed talent management as a chapter because of its (specificity) and its important role in modern enterprises; team building has also become an important aspect of modern enterprise management, and the success or failure of team building ultimately depends on the effectiveness of human resource management. This part also includes the human resource management of multinational corporations. With the integration of the world economy and China's entry into the WTO, human resource management in cross-border operations has become increasingly important.
