Features: This book is a research achievement of the "Reform Plan for Teaching Content and Curriculum Systems in Higher Agricultural and Forestry Education Towards the 21st Century" project funded by the Ministry of Education. It has been approved as a "Curriculum Textbook for the 21st Century" and included in the National Textbook Plan for General Higher Education under the 15th Five-Year Plan. As a textbook for higher agricultural colleges and universities across the country, Physiology of Domestic Animals has been edited by Professor Han Zhengkang and published in three editions, making significant contributions to the education of animal husbandry and veterinary sciences. This book is a continuation and development of the previous three editions, based on the framework of the third edition. The revision follows the principle of "high starting point, clear objectives, up-to-date content, and flexible format," aiming to highlight the advanced nature, applicability, and inspirational value of the course to meet the needs of teaching development in animal husbandry and veterinary science. After soliciting feedback from various stakeholders, we referred to undergraduate textbooks and monographs published domestically and internationally in recent years. To reflect the fundamental concepts of integrated physiology, some chapters have been adjusted, particularly those on digestion, nervous system, endocrinology, and reproduction, and new content on the development of physiology in domestic animals and poultry has been added.
