Features: In recent years, the teaching level of journalism and communication in China has been continuously improving, but there is still a certain gap compared to developed countries. In today's world, the trend of globalization is unstoppable, which is particularly evident in mass communication media. With China's entry into the WTO, there is an even greater demand for journalism and communication education to promptly, comprehensively, and deeply reflect the dynamics of both domestic and international academia and industry, thereby narrowing the gap with the advanced global standards as soon as possible. Nowadays, teachers and students are no longer satisfied with merely reading translated versions of excellent foreign textbooks; they urgently desire access to authentic original versions. To quickly understand and absorb the latest research findings in international journalism and communication, and to enhance the level of teaching research and practical work in this field, China Renmin University Press has selected classic textbooks widely used by renowned journalism and communication schools in the United States for original photoreproduction. The books selected for this series are authored by influential professors in the U.S. journalism and communication field, covering all important areas of the discipline. They comprehensively reflect the theoretical research level and practical exploration efforts in the U.S. journalism and communication field, hence gaining widespread popularity among faculty and students of journalism and communication schools, as well as among journalists worldwide. Most of these editions have been reprinted multiple times, proving to be influential and enduring classics in the field. Alongside introducing the authentic English original books, the table of contents and author bios are translated into Chinese as a supplementary guide for readers' reference. Following this series of photocopied English originals, China Renmin University Press will also release their Chinese translations, allowing readers to compare and read both versions, which is expected to yield greater benefits. During the book selection and review process, this series has received strong support and assistance from Professor Guo Qingguang, Dean of the School of Journalism and Communication at Renmin University of China, and Professor Zhang Yonghua of the School of Journalism and Communication at Shanghai International Studies University. Professor Zhan Jiang of the Journalism Department at China Youth University of Political Science has reviewed and proofread the table of contents translation. We extend our sincere respect and heartfelt gratitude to them all.
