Features: To meet the needs of modern commercial retail industry development under the market economy, our college established the Vocational College Commercial Management Program in 1996, one of the earliest in the country, to cultivate applied talents with high professional ethics and expertise, capable of managing retail store operations, and skilled in both business operations and management. In the process of teaching reform, we adopted a modular combination approach for the design of the "Modern Commercial Store Management and Operation" course. Several years of teaching practice have shown that the design of professional ability modules is conducive to improving the business capabilities and qualities of the training objectives. In 2000, this program was selected as a pilot program for vocational college teaching reform by the Ministry of Education.
Based on teaching reform and practice, we compiled the two textbooks, "Modern Commercial Store Operation Ability Tutorial" and "Modern Commercial Store Management Ability Tutorial." The innovation of these two books lies in the significant adjustment of the content and structure of the previous marketing and enterprise management course systems. Instead of following a theoretical framework as the main writing approach of textbooks, we shifted to a business operation skills-based approach according to the operational process requirements of store management and operations. It can be said that the writing of these two tutorials was completed based on the modular course design.
The writing of the "Modern Commercial Store Operation Ability Tutorial" was completed through the collective efforts of all the professional course teachers. Among the contributors are Wang Linkang, Tian Zhiying, Sun Xiaoli, Wu Xiaohui, Li Keji, Zhou Xiao, and Zhao Lihua, among others. During the writing process, this tutorial also received support and assistance from experts from relevant institutions and friends in the business community. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to them for their hard work.
