Patient's question:
I think I might have premature ejaculation because I always can't get erect when having sex with my wife, and even when I do get erect, it lasts for a very short time. I've eaten a lot of aphrodisiac foods, but it's still the same. I'm also embarrassed to seek treatment. Is this premature ejaculation?Doctor's answer:
In normal people, the occasional occurrence of premature ejaculation during sexual intercourse should not be considered a pathological phenomenon: only when premature ejaculation occurs frequently to the extent that it prevents the completion of the sexual act should it be regarded as pathological. From a female's perspective, if about half of the premature ejaculations occur before the female reaches orgasm, it can be considered premature ejaculation; from a male's perspective, if during sexual intercourse, the male frequently fails to actively and rationally control the timing of ejaculation and the arrival of orgasm, and instead experiences involuntary ejaculation, this is also considered premature ejaculation.
