Features: This book is a key teaching reform project of Tianjin University under the "Nineth Five-Year Plan." During the writing process, we paid special attention to the following points:
1. Organically combining the content of advanced mathematics and linear algebra, and unifying the treatment of some problems in engineering mathematics with modern mathematical perspectives and ideas (e.g., functions and transformations, limits, continuity, and differentiation concepts of unit and multivariate functions, derivatives and integrals of real-variable real-valued and complex-valued functions, etc.).
2. This book covers the full content of advanced mathematics, linear algebra, vector analysis, and field theory in engineering mathematics, as well as some basic concepts of complex functions and the principles of methods used in numerical computation, as well as the basic solutions of linear programming in optimization methods. Given the need for a wide range of knowledge across different disciplines and limited class hours, the content of calculus, analytical geometry, linear algebra, differential equations, field theory, and complex functions has been comprehensively considered. The boundaries of different branches of mathematics have been broken, and the content has been organized from a modern mathematical perspective to avoid repetition and reduce class hours.
3. Striving to organically combine mathematical theory with professional knowledge, this book emphasizes practical application, providing examples to illustrate new concepts and definitions as much as possible before introducing them.
4. The depth and breadth of the content are suitable for the mathematical needs of both engineering and science disciplines, as well as management disciplines. Considering the different needs of various disciplines, some chapters are marked with an asterisk () to indicate that they are optional learning content for different majors.
