What are the general causes of epididymal malformation?

Patient's question:

Married for three years, no breastfeeding or pregnancy, my wife has undergone multiple detailed examinations with no issues. My sperm vitality is not very high, but the doctor said I have epididymal malformation, what is going on?

Doctor's answer:

The causes of epididymal malformation, during the 6th week of embryonic development, the mesonephric ducts and paramesonephric ducts are formed. These ducts will differentiate into male and female reproductive tracts. After the embryonic gonads differentiate into testes and produce testosterone, under the influence of androgens, the mesonephric ducts gradually differentiate into male perinatal ducts. The cranial part of the mesonephric duct becomes the epididymal, the testicular efferent ductules derived from the mesonephric tubules, along with the epididymal duct that winds and coils beneath it, together form the head of the epididymis. The remaining epididymal ducts form the body and tail of the epididymis.
