Features: This book, as a key teaching reform project of Tianjin University during the "Nineth Five-Year Plan" period, emphasizes the following points in its writing process:
1. Organically integrating the content of advanced mathematics and linear algebra, and unifying the treatment of some problems in engineering mathematics with modern mathematical perspectives and ideas (e.g., functions and transformations, limits, continuity, and differentiation concepts of unit and multivariable functions, derivatives and integrals of real-variable real-valued and complex-valued functions, etc.).
2. This book includes sections on advanced mathematics, linear algebra, vector analysis and field theory in engineering mathematics, some basic contents of complex function theory, and the principles of numerical computation methods as well as the basic solutions of linear programming in optimization methods. Given the extensive knowledge required by various majors and the limited class hours, the book comprehensively considers the content of calculus, analytical geometry, linear algebra, differential equations, field theory, and complex function theory, breaks the boundaries of different branches of mathematics, organizes the content with modern mathematical perspectives, and avoids repetition while reducing class hours.
3. Strives to organically combine mathematical theory with professional knowledge. The book emphasizes practical aspects, using examples to illustrate new concepts and definitions as much as possible before introducing them.
4. The depth and breadth of the content are suitable for the mathematical needs of both engineering majors and science and management disciplines. Considering the different requirements of various majors, some chapters are marked with an asterisk () to indicate that they are optional learning content for different majors.
