Features: This book is designed for senior undergraduate and graduate students of the Accounting Department at Renmin University of China, but it also serves as a valuable reference for professionals in practical working departments who are interested in accounting research. The content and relationship between advanced accounting and intermediate accounting can be summarized in the phrase "filling gaps and deepening exploration."
The term "filling gaps and deepening exploration" refers to the fact that advanced accounting primarily studies issues that have not been covered in intermediate accounting. Generally, topics already discussed in intermediate accounting do not fall under the scope of advanced accounting.
"Deepening exploration" has two meanings:
1. It refers to some issues in intermediate accounting that are briefly mentioned but not thoroughly discussed due to not being the core content. These can be further explored in advanced accounting, building upon and deepening the knowledge presented in intermediate accounting, rather than simply repeating the original issues. This means advanced accounting should provide students with new knowledge.
2. It refers to newly emerging issues in accounting practice that require theoretical explanation due to economic development and environmental changes. These issues are innovative and have several characteristics, such as lack of standardized procedures, no existing precedents for handling them, the inability of traditional theories and methods to address them, and their operation being influenced by numerous uncertain factors. To tackle such issues, a pioneering spirit is required, and special approaches must be explored on a broader and entirely new basis. This book attempts to address some of these issues, but their feasibility depends on practical application.
This book is designed for senior undergraduate and graduate students of our Accounting Department, but it also serves as a valuable reference for professionals in practical working departments who are interested in accounting research.
