How to treat balanitis with medication?

Patient's question:

Within the first 45 days, I noticed a red bump on my glans, which was slightly swollen and itchy around the area. Recently, the bump has also left some pus. I had my foreskin circumcised two years ago and haven't had any sexual activity. It's likely due to the cold weather a few days ago when I didn't take a bath or change my underwear, and sometimes didn't wash my face before urinating after work. How can be treated with medication?

Doctor's answer:

Always maintain local cleanliness to prevent secondary infection; ② For serous discharge and slough, use 3% boric acid solution or 0.1% Ringer's lactate for wet dressing; ③ Corticosteroid cream can be used for non-infectious subacute stage; ④ In chronic stage or dry desquamation, tetracycline and cortisol ointment can be used; ⑤ For obvious infection with fever and lymph node enlargement, systemic antibiotics such as cephalexin 0.5g orally 3-4 times/day or ofloxacin 0.2g twice daily can be used. Balanitis is prone to recur. Pay attention to a proper diet and avoid sexual activity.
