How do hospitals treat balanitis?

Patient's question:

What causes balanitis? I unknowingly developed this condition. I didn't have sexual activity before, but sometimes I couldn't help but touch my glans. Does this cause balanitis? How do treat balanitis?

Doctor's answer:

Circumcitalitis is generally treated both internally and externally. For the treatment of acute superficial balanitis and annular purulent balanitis, erythromycin and sulfa drugs are the must-use medications. Typically, 0.5g is taken every 4 times a day. For trichomoniasis balanitis, metronidazole is the must-use medication. 0.2g is taken every 3 times a day. Alternate use for 10 days. For balanitis caused by Candida albicans, it is common to use griseofulvin or itraconazole. Griseofulvin 100,000 to 200,000 units is taken twice a day.
