Features: From November 17 to 19, 1997, the Center for German and EU Law Research of the Institute of Law, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, held a Comparative Symposium on Chinese and German Antitrust Laws at the Beijing Hotel. Nearly 50 Chinese and foreign representatives attended the meeting, and 19 papers were submitted. This book collects all the papers from the symposium. The purpose of the Comparative Symposium on Chinese and German Antitrust Laws was to provide an academic exchange opportunity for Chinese scholars studying antitrust law and government officials responsible for antitrust legislation to interact with German scholars and experts on antitrust law, jointly exploring key and challenging issues in antitrust legislation. The main topics discussed at the meeting included: state-owned enterprises in competition law, legal regulation of administrative restrictions on competition, abuse supervision of dominant market enterprises, price cartels, merger control in economic globalization, and so on. These topics not only involve law and economics but also touch upon reforms in national political and administrative systems.
