Features: This book was originally the textbook for the introductory course on Anglo-American law at the School of Law, Soochow University in Taiwan. Its purpose is to lay the foundation for students of the School of Law at Soochow University to study various Anglo-American law courses during their five-year studies. Last year, at the invitation of Professor Wu Zhipan, Dean of the School of Law at Peking University, I went to Peking University to teach a course on Anglo-American tort law to graduate students. During my stay in Beijing for over a month, I learned that since the reform and opening-up, China has been striving to align with international standards, and in the field of law, understanding Anglo-American law should be one of the basic components of this alignment. As a result, law schools across the country are planning to offer courses related to Anglo-American law, and this book may serve as an introductory text.
