Features: This book is a volume of the Commercial Law Colloquium edited by the Commercial Law Research Center of the Institute of Law, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. The purpose of compiling this book is to base itself on the development and improvement of China's commercial law, extensively draw on and absorb the experience of foreign commercial legislation and case law theories, track the development trends of foreign commercial law, promote the research of commercial law topics, and advance the discipline construction of commercial law, thereby providing theoretical support for commercial legislation and commercial adjudication practice. Under the highly centralized planned economic system, China did not have a strict sense of commercial law. Since the reform and opening-up, with the development of commodity production and commodity exchange, and coupled with the state's adoption of the policy of strengthening the socialist legal system, commercial legislation has been restored. Especially after 1992, with the socialist market economy system being adopted as the goal of economic reform, commercial law has made remarkable progress. Now, in China, laws such as the Company Law, Negotiable Instruments Law, Insurance Law, Maritime Law, and Commercial Bank Law have established themselves in the legal system and play an irreplaceable role in the development of the market economy with their unique regulatory mechanisms.
