Patient's question:
What kind of help do you care about: Hello, is there a certain relationship between varicocele and high estrogen? Can you elaborate on it?Doctor's answer:
Varicocele has nothing to do with high estrogen. Varicocele refers to the abnormal shortening, expansion, and tortuosity of the pampiniform plexus of veins within the spermatic cord. It affects approximately 10-15% of males, with a higher prevalence on the left side. The causes are mainly: anatomical factors, venous underdevelopment, and compression of the internal spermatic vein leading to impaired venous return. It is characterized by a feeling of heaviness and in the scrotum, with the affected veins appearing as a worm-like mass. Due to the expansion of blood vessels and blood clots, local temperature drops, which can impair the testicular function of spermatogenesis. High estrogen refers to elevated levels of male hormones in the body. It has no relation to whether one has varicocele.
