How to deal with cerebral palsy in children?

Patient's question:

A child in a friend's family has been diagnosed with a disease. They constantly drool and frequently laugh, as if there's something wrong with their nervous system. The hospital said it's cerebral palsy. Because of this illness, the friend is very troubled and hopes the child's condition can be somewhat alleviated. What are the treatment options for cerebral palsy in young children?

Doctor's answer:

The incidence of cerebral palsy is mostly before or during infancy. The reasons include: congenital injuries, neonatal gallbladder nucleus, brain hypoxia; premature birth. The main symptoms are increased muscle tone and difficulty in flexion. In severe cases, muscle stiffness, spasms, and joint retention of flexion posture can be observed. In milder cases, slight hand movements and inability to touch the ground with the heels while walking can be seen. These patients often have associated language development, dysarthria, and strabismus. About one-third of the patients have varying degrees of convulsions and intellectual disability. The best advice is to undergo rehabilitation training under the guidance of a doctor.
