How to recover from testicular torsion?

Patient's question:

Just finished playing basketball and I might have testicular torsion. How can I fully recover from testicular torsion myself? Is it serious?

Doctor's answer:

The possibility of a testicular torsion fully recovering on its own is relatively low. If a testicular torsion is not treated promptly, it may lead to testicular necrosis, testicular tumors, or malignant inflammation.
In clinical diagnosis, if the testicular torsion is 90 degrees, partial ischemia may occur, leading to partial testicular necrosis. If the torsion is 360 degrees or 720 degrees, it may result in complete suppurative necrosis of the testicle.
If clinical diagnosis is uncertain and it is difficult to differentiate between testicular torsion and testicular inflammation, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) should be performed.
It is recommended that if testicular torsion occurs, treatment should be sought within 12 hours to prevent testicular necrosis or complications.
In daily life, avoid intense exercise, spicy foods, and maintain good hygiene to ensure adequate nutrition.
