How can newborn jaundice be resolved?

Patient's question:

The child is 15 days old. The jaundice level was 15.4 before, and it is now 17.3. The help needed: What should I do? How can I make the child's jaundice level subside?

Doctor's answer:

Neonatal jaundice mainly includes physiological jaundice and breast milk jaundice. Physiological jaundice is primarily caused by insufficient early feeding, leading to a decrease in bilirubin in the infant and resulting in jaundice. Typically, this condition gradually subsides within 5-7 days after birth. If it is breast milk jaundice, it usually begins a few days after birth and can last for 2-3 months. In this case, if the jaundice is severe, breastfeeding can be temporarily suspended. As long as it is not particularly severe, this condition does not require treatment and will not affect growth. If the jaundice is very severe, light or anti-yellow medicine can be used for treatment.
