Features: 2004 was the 100th anniversary of the Law School of Peking University. To commemorate this milestone, the Law School of Peking University held a series of national academic seminars around specific issues of various disciplines. The Path of Chinese Constitutionalism is a collection of papers submitted by participants to the Constitutional Theory Seminar organized by the Center for Constitutional and Administrative Law of Peking University in April 2004. As a compilation of papers, it naturally integrates the thoughts and wisdom of many. The authors are mostly leading scholars and intellectuals in the field of constitutional and administrative law in China. Thanks to their generous contributions of insightful arguments at the conference forum and their willingness to share their works in this collection, The Path of Chinese Constitutionalism was made possible. The success of the seminar and its organization was greatly supported by the passionate concern of the esteemed professors Luo Haozai and Xiao Weiyun. This seminar was also held to celebrate the centennial of the Law School of Peking University.
