The Civil Code of Taiwan was enacted in mainland China in 1929, based on the German Civil Code while also incorporating legislative examples from Switzerland and Japan. Since 1946, it has been applied in Taiwan and has now been in use for over half a century, providing an efficient and stable private legal order for socio-economic development. My works aim to analyze and discuss the social changes in the Civil Code and the interactive relationship between theory and practice. The focus is on applying legal methods to conduct in-depth research on specific cases, interpreting and applying the Civil Code, integrating doctrines and case law, and attempting to construct fundamental concepts, theoretical frameworks, and guiding principles of the Civil Code through rigorous arguments and reasoning. It is hoped that this updated and reprinted edition will continue to contribute to the progress and development of Chinese civil law studies.
