Western and Chinese Legal Traditions [Volume 2]

Features: Legal history is a branch of law with strong humanistic characteristics, the human aspect of law, and a field of study that reflects on the laws governing human progress (subjectively and actively). Only those with profound humanistic sentiments of compassion for the suffering and empathy for all living beings can truly appreciate the depth and richness of legal history, and recognize the sacred historical responsibility of legal historiography. Today, as the nation is obsessed with profit and in a state of frenzy, fewer and fewer people are engaged in poetry. We cannot help but be concerned. At the same time, legal history, as the true deep waters in the vast lake of law, can only be navigated by those with excellent skills. Yet now, fewer and fewer people have both the ability and the courage to enter this deep water. In this era of "two shortages" (fewer capable and fewer courageous scholars), we hope to rally the great scholars who can awaken the nation's humanistic sense of responsibility, and we hope for more in-depth, solid, broad-minded, and methodologically innovative research in legal history. We also hope for new generations of legal historians who are willing to take the lead, full of vigor, and who will carry forward the torch. This is the purpose and driving force behind the publication of Chinese and Western Legal Traditions.
