Features: Law is a highly practical discipline, yet it is also highly theoretical and dialectical. The Law Department of China University of Political Science and Law places special emphasis on both practical training and the cultivation of legal skills while maintaining a focus on practice. Theoretical issues are also given particular attention. The integration of theory with practice has always been advocated as a scholarly ethos and should continue to be emphasized. At the same time, academic research has a natural division of labor. As the main body of academic research, scholars have their own starting points and motivations when determining their research fields and methods. The connection between distance legal research and the development of the real legal system involves multiple indirect transformations, which may manifest as intricate or subtle. Some topics may have no connection at all with the real legal system. Scholars determine their research topics and apply their wisdom, either out of a sense of social responsibility to improve the existing legal system and promote judicial fairness, or out of pure academic interest and an insistent investigative nature. In the latter case, the value expectations for research outcomes lie not in their practicality but in their academic significance.
