Some say that evidence law is the most important and complex part of litigation law, while others argue that evidence law is an independent discipline that stands shoulder to shoulder with procedural law and substantive law. As for me, evidence law is a discipline that is nurtured, matures, and ultimately must separate from the mother discipline of procedural law. As the new century approaches, with the inevitable establishment of an independent evidence law discipline in China, evidence law will exist as an independent legal discipline. Professor Liu Jinyou, the editor of this book, is one of China's first master's degree candidates and has always focused on evidence law as his main research direction. Through a long and repeated process of exploration, he has accumulated a wealth of experience. To comprehensively and systematically reflect the achievements in evidence legislation, judicial practice, evidence law teaching, and research over the past 20 years of reform and opening up, and to explore a new system of evidence law in the new century, he has worked together with his colleagues at the same university to publish this academic monograph, Evidence Law.
