Features: Long Zongzhi, born in Chengdu in September 1954, is a Ph.D. in law and a professor at the Law School of Sichuan University. He has long been engaged in judicial work and served as the Deputy Director of the Major Military District Procuratorate. In 1978, he enrolled in the undergraduate law program at Southwest University of Political Science and Law. After graduation, he returned to the same university to pursue master's and doctoral studies. He describes himself as a "person who jumps between theory and practice" and has published over 140 legal papers and research articles in journals such as Social Sciences in China, Legal Research, and Chinese Law. He has authored and translated 6 books (including co-authored and co-translated works). His professional fields include criminal procedure law, evidence law, and judicial systems. In the late 1980s, he began research on litigation culture and introduced value theory into the field of criminal procedure law. In the early 1990s, he established the "dual-structure" theory of criminal procedure, which includes both the triangular structure and the linear structure. In the late 1990s, he explored the issue of judicial rationality and proposed the "relatively rationalism" in judicial reform and judicial practice. At the same time, he published a series of influential research articles addressing prominent issues in judicial practice.
