Features: In late September 2003, the Professional Committee for Civil Procedure Law of the China Society of Law Studies and the Civil and Administrative Procuratorial Supervision Department of the Supreme People's Procuratorate jointly held the 7th Academic Symposium on Civil Procedure Law. The conference was held in Urumqi, Xinjiang, and organized by the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region People's Procuratorate. The theme of the conference was "Amendment of the Civil Procedure Law and Improvement of the Civil Procuratorial Supervision System." The legislative provisions for the civil procuratorial supervision system are relatively brief, and various problems exist in practice. Theoretical circles and practical departments have differing views on many issues. I believe it is essential to strengthen research on the civil procuratorial supervision system. Only through research can the legislation be further improved, and only through research can the various problems in practice be resolved. As the national legal supervisory organ, the People's Procuratorate has a heavy and far-reaching responsibility to strengthen and improve legal supervision in the new historical period, and strengthening research in this area is a shared responsibility of both theoretical circles and the legal practice community!
