How to deal with prostatic cyst

Patient's question:

How is prostatic cyst treated? What should be done about prostatic cyst? Can someone tell me what to do about this?

Doctor's answer:

Prostate cysts are similar to kidney cysts. If the cyst grows very large and controls the kidney tissue, causing the kidney function to gradually worsen, measures must be taken. The cyst is usually filled with liquid. Sometimes, under the guidance of ultrasound, a drainage pump may be used, or surgery may be performed to remove it. If the prostate cyst is very small, it generally does not cause significant interference. If it grows larger, measures still need to be taken. Cysts usually grow very slowly and do not require special solutions or specific treatments. If the cyst shrinks, follow-up examinations should be conducted every year or so to monitor the size of the lump and any changes in it. This is sufficient. Generally, if the prostate cyst does not interfere with prostate function, no special measures are needed.
