Where can I find hope for treating varicocele?

Patient's question:

Where is the best place to treat varicocele? Doctor, I would like to ask, I have no sperm, bilateral varicocele, small testicles, and FSH levels are high by 5 units. I haven't had a biopsy yet. Do you have any hope for treatment? Where in Shandong is it better to treat? Please give guidance and help from the doctor. Thank you.

Doctor's answer:

Varicocele, due to blood stasis in the spermatic veins, can lead to an increase in scrotal temperature, causing the testicular temperature to drop by 1℃ to 2℃. Persistent long-term elevation in temperature can affect sperm production in the testes, resulting in azoospermia and oligozoospermia. The epididymis also contributes to the maturation of sperm. It is more common in young and middle-aged adults. The incidence of left varicocele is higher. Individuals with asymptomatic or mild symptoms can wear elastic pants or use a scrotal support band. Men with severe symptoms and infertility due to varicocele accompanied by abnormal sperm should undergo surgical treatment. Currently, surgical treatment is the most direct approach.
