Features: The "Newly Compiled Atlas of China" is a general map that reflects the current administrative divisions, geographical environment, transportation networks, famous scenic spots, and urban conditions of all provinces (regions) and cities in China. It serves as a reference book for readers to study, travel, and engage in business. The atlas primarily consists of maps, supplemented by text introductions and color photographs of provinces (regions) and cities. It includes 71 maps, approximately 78,000 words of text, and 75 photographs.
The atlas features 3 introductory maps that illustrate China's global location, administrative divisions, and topography. There are 34 provincial (region) and city maps that provide detailed descriptions of administrative divisions, population centers, transportation networks, rivers and lakes, and tourist attractions. Some key areas (e.g., near provincial capitals) and famous scenic spots are presented as enlargements or illustrations. Additionally, 34 maps of provincial (region) and city capitals focus on urban scale, peripheral transportation, main streets, and service facilities.
The text includes the history, terrain, climate, agriculture, industry, and transportation of each province (region) and city. It also lists national historical and cultural cities, key scenic areas, national nature reserves, and World Heritage sites, along with simplified administrative division tables. The photographs showcase representative architecture, scenic spots, folk customs, and achievements in socialist construction. Finally, the atlas includes a "National Major Highway Directory." During the compilation process, the editorial team drew on a variety of sources, referencing domestic new data, particularly maps and materials published or provided by map publishers, provincial (region) and city surveying and mapping departments, and transportation departments.
