Therefore, patients with severe varicocele still need to consider active treatment. For mild varicocele or those accompanied by neurasthenia, report scrotal swelling and apply cold compresses. For severe varicocele, continuous sperm count below 20 million three times in a row, or testicular atrophy; if the varicose veins disappear when lying flat, the varicocelectomy (high ligation of internal spermatic vein) can be performed.
