How is male infertility treated and where can it be treated?

Patient's question:

Azoospermia! Tried many sperm production drugs with no success! Testicular biopsy and semen analysis have been done. Experts, how should I proceed with treatment?

Doctor's answer:

Hello: The treatment for azoospermia is primarily based on the underlying cause of the condition and involves additional treatments.
① For obstructive azoospermia, different surgical procedures may be performed depending on the specific situation, such as vasovasostomy, epididymovasostomy, artificial varicocele placement, epididymal sperm retrieval, and transurethral incision.
② For non-obstructive azoospermia, if the cause is endocrine disorders (e.g., hypogonadotropic hypogonadism), treatments such as gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) and gonadotropin therapy, as well as testosterone replacement, may be used. If the cause is a pituitary tumor, surgical removal is recommended. Pituitary microadenomas and idiopathic hyperprolactinemia can be treated with bromocriptine. In cases of primary testicular failure accompanied by varicocele, varicocelectomy should be performed.
