Features: Some companies have already found solutions to connect various parts of the network, either through self-developed systems or with narrow application domains. For example, IBM's CICS for user transaction processing has such connectivity features, but the design, maintenance, and development of data processing software are often very expensive. Therefore, there is a need for a general-purpose software that can integrate multiple applications running on systems provided by vendors. This software should not only be cost-effective but also reliably handle high throughput. Message middleware is precisely the solution to such interconnection problems. The emergence of commercial message middleware ensures the reliability, efficiency, and security of message transmission while reducing the system development cycle. Currently, the most widely used message middleware product is IBM WebSphere MQ. This book provides a detailed explanation of the architecture, management, and development of WebSphere MQ, hoping to be helpful to readers. This book is part of the IBM Software Academy series, co-planned and written by technical experts with long-term experience in WebSphere MQ application development in China and some senior engineering technicians from IBM. It is designated as the official learning textbook for WebSphere MQ by the IBM Software Academy. The book is divided into three parts and 14 chapters. The first part introduces the principles and architecture of WebSphere MQ, consisting of two chapters. The second part covers the system management of WebSphere MQ, divided into six chapters, including installation, configuration, management, control commands, and problem diagnosis. The third part introduces the application development of WebSphere MQ, comprising six chapters that include program design, writing, and example programs. As a practical tutorial and guide for the WebSphere MQ product, this book is beneficial to at least two types of readers: beginners in WebSphere MQ, who can use it as a reference material, and system administrators and developers of WebSphere MQ.
