How to Avoid the Harm of Prostate Calcification

Patient's question:

Previously, during a physical examination, I was found to have prostatic calcification. Since there were no symptoms, I didn't take it seriously. However, recently I've been feeling unwell and wondering if it could be related to this prostatic calcification. How can I avoid the harm caused by prostatic calcification?

Doctor's answer:

Prostatic calcification, calcification foci can expand into stones, which can alleviate inflammation of the prostate. However, prostatic calcification foci cannot completely disappear; as long as they are within a certain range and without discomfort symptoms, the interference is minimal. Fibrosis caused by prostatitis may interfere with fertility. Chronic prostatitis can lead to low sperm viability, shortened semen liquefaction time, and reduced fertility. Improper treatment of prostatic calcification can result in the formation of prostatic stones. Prostatic stones refer to stones formed in the prostate tissue or acini. Prostatic stones themselves may be asymptomatic, and symptoms usually reappear due to prostatic hyperplasia, urethral stricture, or chronic prostatitis in nine out of ten cases.
