Features: Intelligence is a concept that is difficult to understand. Research on the mechanisms and functions of intelligence has been expanding in the fields of biology and artificial intelligence systems. This book introduces the original models of intelligent systems, integrating knowledge from various sources to develop a theory that can be used to analyze all advanced and complex systems, from economics to integrated manufacturing. The book focuses on intelligence as a computational phenomenon with multiple solutions, aiming to significantly influence future research and development in the field of intelligence. It serves as a valuable resource for scientists, engineers, and those who wish to explore contemporary theories and computational intelligence tools. The book comprehensively and systematically introduces the theoretical foundations, reference structures, and design methods of intelligent systems. It proposes and utilizes the concept of multi-resolution, providing a detailed description of the models and main components of intelligent systems, including perception processing, behavior generation, planners, actuators, and learning processes. The book also introduces the applications of intelligent systems in systems such as robots, autonomous vehicles, and computer integration. Unlike general introductions to intelligent systems, this book emphasizes the multi-level and multi-resolution nature of intelligent systems. The concept of multi-resolution runs throughout the book, offering readers excellent guidance for a deeper understanding and design of intelligent systems. This book can be used as a textbook for senior undergraduate and graduate students in various disciplines, including computer science, automatic control, information science, mechatronics engineering, and business management, as well as a reference for engineering and technical personnel engaged in the design and application of intelligent systems.
