Patient's question:
Previously, when I saw other people's children after birth, they often had jaundice. In severe cases, it could lead to problems in the child's brain. So I was quite worried that my baby might also have this condition when he/she was born. I wanted to know if all newborns have jaundice now?Doctor's answer:
Newborns generally exhibit varying degrees of jaundice. Parents of children with physiological jaundice need not worry too much. When the value does not exceed 15, if they persist in sunning for 15 minutes every morning and drink more water to promote excretion, the jaundice will subside. Over 70% of children with jaundice usually subside within about a week. Newborn jaundice also requires examination to determine whether it is physiological jaundice or pathological jaundice for symptomatic treatment.
