Patient's question:
Recently, there have been some problems with my sexual life. I went for a check-up and found that I have prostatic calcification. What are the symptoms of prostatic calcification?Doctor's answer:
Prostatic calcification is one of the common inflammatory conditions of the prostate in men, often recurring between the ages of 40 and 60. In pathology, fibrosis refers to the deposition of calcium salts in localized tissues, which can be a normal physiological process or occur in certain pathological conditions. Due to the lack of typical clinical diagnostic symptoms and signs, prostatic calcification is often discovered during imaging tests when examining for prostate diseases or other urinary system disorders. In imaging tests, prostatic calcification appears as hyperechoic foci or high-density areas within the prostate. With the widespread adoption and advancement of magnetic resonance technology, the detection rate of prostatic calcification has significantly increased. For prostatic calcification without obvious clinical diagnostic symptoms, treatment is generally not necessary.
