Patient's question:
Mild benign prostatic hyperplasia is caused by inflammation? How does mild prostatic fibrosis occur, is it due to inflammation? What are the causes of mild benign prostatic hyperplasia?Doctor's answer:
Prostate hyperplasia, also known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), is the most common benign disease among the causes of male urinary obstruction. Its onset is primarily related to age and hormonal levels in the body. Generally, after the age of 35, the prostate can develop varying degrees of fibrosis, and clinical symptoms often appear after the age of 50. It is not the same disease as prostatitis, but BPH may lead to secondary nerve damage. In cases where BPH does not cause significant intestinal obstruction symptoms, it typically does not require treatment. For mild or surgically intolerable cases of intestinal obstruction, medication or non-surgical minimally invasive treatments can be used.
