The Bible is the collective name of the formal classics of Christianity, usually referring to the Old Testament and the New Testament.
The Old Testament consists of the books that Christianity inherited from Judaism. Judaism calls these classics the Bible but does not recognize the books of the New Testament compiled during the early period of Christian founding.
The Old Testament has 39 books and 929 chapters. The New Testament is smaller, with only 27 books and 260 chapters. Among them, there are 4 Gospels, 21 Epistles of the Apostles, and one each of the Acts of the Apostles and the Revelation.
